After working over 40 years in the insurance industry and running an insurance agency of his own, Terry has transitioned from sales and management into insurance consulting. Over the years, he’s seen nearly everything as it relates to property and casualty insurance. With that deep understanding, he is committed to bringing clarity and integrity to the insurance world. Terry is passionate about helping others navigate the industry’s intricacies, emphasizing objectivity and confidentiality.

* President of Friedman Insurance and CEO of the Friedman Group, in Dubuque, Iowa, 2004-2020.
* Chair, Independent Agents of Iowa Technical & Industry Affairs Committee, 2003-2005.
* Board Member, Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa, 2006-2019, and its President, 2017-2018.
* Board Member, Mid-America Insurance Conference (MAIC), 2004 to present, Former Chair and current Treasurer. MAIC is a national organization that makes recommendations to the Insurance Services Office (ISO) to improve insurance policies.
* Board Member, State of Iowa Workers Compensation Appeals Board, 2005-2019; appointed by Insurance Commissioner Susan Voss.
* Presidential Citation, Independent Insurance Agents of Iowa, 2017, for his contributions and providing insurance coverage expertise.
* Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU) since 1997.
* Expert Witness, providing opinions on insurance-related lawsuits.
* Member of AAIMCo (American Association of Insurance Management Consultants)
* Currently on the "Ask an Expert" panel for Coverage and Agency Management questions for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA).
